PURPOSE
As a result of "model cities" success, the AIREF False Alarm Committee has determined the greatest
opportunity for false dispatch reduction and the success for this program can be gained when there is
a full-time coordinator working with Police and Alarm Dealers. A neutral coordinator would diminish
concerns associated customer lists and problem accounts.
ESTIMATED COST
We estimate the two year program will require an investment of at least $1.5 million. This would
include hiring five state coordinators, office equipment, travel expenses, etc.
FUNDING:
ADI CONTRIBUTION
ADI has stepped forward and donated the time of their Vice-President of Industry Relations to
coordinate this effort through AIREF. That support includes all administrative help, supplies and
related travel expenses for the duration of the program.
NATIONAL COMPANIES
Many of the national companies have pledged their support with direct donations to AIREF.
Those currently contributing include: ADT, Brinks, Dynamark, Wells Fargo, Westar.
MANUFACTURER CONTRIBUTIONS
SIA - Security Industry Association has pledged $20,000 per month for the next 24 months for a
total $480,000.
DEALER CONTRIBUTION LOCATED WITHIN A MODEL STATE
In addition, ADI has setup a voluntary program whereby dealers may contribute to this effort by
donating One-half or One percent of each ADI invoice to AIREF. Upon completion of a pledge
card, the percentage will itemized and added to the original invoice amount then billed to the
dealer. ADI will accumulate all amounts collected in a special account and forward the proceeds
to AIREF. AIREF will disperse the funds as approved by their board of directors.
50/50 SPLIT PROGRAM FOR NON-MODEL STATES
In non-model states 50% of the funds collected will be returned to the recognized state association for projects designated by the local leadership. The other 50% will be forwarded to AIREF for the national program.
